The company reputation was most important  to me and you should continue to market yourselves as the local industry leader in product/service quality and customer satisfaction.  Since a pool is a very expensive decision potential  customers go into the decision making process wanting to feel secure  that the product and company will meet their expectations for years to  come. And, with word of mouth being a VERY important factor in making  this kind of decision, preserving your long-term customer care reputation (even if  it means giving in to the occasional unreasonable customer request) is  paramount to your viability.
Also, when I sat down with Linda to talk about why her quote was higher than the others, she had a very good response that  meshed with what I say above. She said that when I call Aegean I won't get a  voicemail, I'll talk to one of the many long term employees that Aegean  has. That Aegean's business location isn't an  office front in a strip shopping center but a stand-alone brick and mortar building that Aegean owns. That Aegean has been in business since 1984 and is  family run and will still be around 10 or 20 years from now, whenever I  may need them. That Aegean didn't get to be this successful by not  taking care of their customers. That all of that increases overhead,  but translates to satisfied customers. In short, she sold me "peace of  mind." And that's what makes sales. Also, she gave me a break on the  sq/ft price of the concrete which increased the "good deal" perception  of my decision, and made me increase the size of my concrete pour.

We also  appreciated that Aegean had a specialist for each step of the  pool-building process. That helped instill confidence that the best  people were doing their respective best with regard to our pool. We  also liked that the process was done in a quick but professional manner. We were swimming a mere two-to-three weeks after the pool was dug. We have appreciated Aegean's responsiveness to problems that we have had  with our pump this year. Not  only did he come to our home on more than one occasion to answer our  endless questions, he helped us design the perfect pool for our yard.  He knew we were talking to three other companies in addition to Aegean, but he was never pushy and always seemed to have our best interest in mind. We were called with specific things to do and watch out for during the hurricane and a couple of guys came by the day after to check on the pool and make sure everything was OK. I come home for lunch every day and I can't remember how many times some of the staff dropped by just to make sure everything was coming along well. That's amazing service. The only delays experienced were related to weather. We have only been able to use the pool a few times as it went in at the end of the season but it is great and I'm sure we will be in there every day next year.

Near the end of the pool construction, water had been added and the next step was to pour concrete, we suffered a setback when a tree fell into the pool. During the repairs, my wife asked one of your personnel how things were looking, and she got a sarcastic answer back, "It looks like a tree fell in the pool." This was the only blemish on an otherwise highly professional team. While the comment may have been intended to be funny, it brought a feeling that Aegean was becoming a sub-par contractor that fell into the same catagory as our landscape and fence contractors. Fortunately, that wasn't the case and this is the last time we will ever mention this incident.
As stated, we would highly recommend Aegean to our friends and neighbors.

Bill Fearns arranged final top soil and grading quickly which allowed us to get our fencing and landscaping quickly restablished in the fall.
